Con casi 70 años de historia en la Gran Vía madrileña, el Teatro Lope de Vega es uno de los espacios más emblemáticos en la historia del teatro en España. El “Lope” fue inaugurado el 16 de abril de 1949 y en sus orígenes fue el escenario de referencia para grandes nombres de la copla, pero es a partir de 1997 cuando se convierte en el referente del teatro musical en España acogiendo los mayores éxitos del teatro musical: La Bella y la Bestia, El Fantasma de la Ópera, Mamma Mia!, Jesuscristo Superstar y Los Miserables. En 2011 sufrió una profunda reforma, respetando su riqueza histórica, para acoger el mayor éxito musical jamás representado en España: El Rey León
